which control panel is better? cPanel or DirectAdmin?

They are about the same. cPanel is more graphical, whereas Directadmin is more textical.

Directadmin has these advantages :-

1) You can change domain yourself at any time.

2) You can manage DNS yourself inside the control panel.

3) Free script (Installatron) can be installed in subdomain.
